Country Meadows Art Fair and Wine Tasting Festival

September 19, 2010 at Veteran's Memorial Park, 3400 Pearl Street, McHenry, IL 60050, 9:00 to 4:00 

This year the fair will feature a Farmer's Market, Antique Road Show Appraisals, Crafts, Vendor Fair and Refreshments and Wine Tastings! "For What It's Worth" appraiser Karl Gates wil discuss antiques in general, covering various time periods, and spending time appraising objects grouped by type. Each attendee may bring one item for appraisal. (no coins, stamps or weapons please)  Be sure to visit The Studio School of Art tent to receive a coupon good toward ceramic painting. Grandparents Day at The Studio
Sunday, September 12, 2010 1 to 3 pm,  $5 per attendee, ages 5 to 95, must pre-register

Family Doodle Day
Saturday, October 16, 2010, 1-4 pm, $5 per attendee, must pre-register
Enjoy the studio with your family for some creative "together time" Project plan and materials provided. 

Saturday Ceramic Painting Workshops feature a painted bisqueware piece to be glazed and kiln fired and ready for you to pick up the following week. Also included in each lesson is a related project featuring fine art materials and thoughtful, guided projects. Recommended for ages 7 and up.

Purse Party Ceramic Workshop
Saturday, 9/11 1-3 pm $20
Come to our "Purse Party" and design your own colorful purse box. Style tips and techniques included. Create a fashion portfolio and a "Label" for your line. Purses are to be kiln fired.

SLUG BUG Ceramic Workshop
Saturday, 9/18, 1 - 3 pm $20 
Paint your own sporty Volkswagon in a style all your own. The possibilities are endless. Accompanying art project is a groovy 70's themed oil pastel design.

Time for Tea Ceramic Workshop
Saturday 9/25, 1 - 3 pm $20
Paint a ceramic teapot to give as a gift or to admire yourself. Accompanying art project is a fantasy inspired by the Cake Boss.

"Paint & Destroy" Ceramic Workshop
Saturday, 10/2, 1 - 3 pm $20
A workshop for boys featuring the choice of either a ceramic tank or Humvee. Map making project includes determining a starting point, compass rose, booby traps and target destination.

Creepy Creatures Ceramic Workshop
Saturday 10/9, 1 - 3 pm $20
Paint a bat or spider ceramic and create a haunted mansion pastel picture to decorate your den.

Halloween Ceramic Workshop
Saturday 10/16, 1 - 3 pm $20
Paint either a vampire or witch figurine and create a ghastly ghost graveyard scene.

Fallen Leaf Ceramic Workshop
Saturday 10/28, 1 - 3 pm $20
Paint a useful and beautiful ceramic platter insired by the fallen leaves around us. Let our techniques inspire your creation. Leaf rubbing art project creates a pretty picture.

Day of the Dead Workshop
Monday, 11/2 7 - 9 pm, Teen $20
Inspired by the works of Jose Guadalupe Posada, workshop participants will decorate a grotesque yet lively skull in the traditional Mexican style.
